Welcome to The Farmer’s Wife Inn, a charming bed & breakfast nestled on a 38-acre farm just 4 miles from the stunning Cumberland Falls. Our farmhouse, built in 2022, offers a cozy and modern retreat. Enjoy a delicious homemade breakfast every morning during your stay. Our inn features four guestrooms: three upstairs and one downstairs. You’ll be staying in “The Coop,” a delightful chicken-themed room on the ground floor with no stairs required. The Coop boasts a queen bed, a private attached bathroom, and a private entrance from our wrap-around deck. Amenities include a small fridge, microwave, and coffee station. Your room also connects to a shared living and dining area, providing a welcoming space for interaction with other guests and us, your hosts. Explore our picturesque farm, which includes 15 acres of open pasture, 23 acres of woods, and a tranquil pond. Located within the Daniel Boone National Forest, there are plenty of outdoor activities nearby. Some of the local attractions include: Cumberland Falls – 7 minutes Natural Arch – 16 minutes Big South Fork Scenic Railway – 20 minutes Princess Falls – 26 minutes Laurel River Lake – 40 minutes Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area – 1 hr 15 min Mammoth Cave National Park – 2 hours Guests have access to shared spaces including the living/dining area, a two-story wrap-around deck, and our expansive farmland. You can also stroll down to Indian Creek at the edge of our property. If you need to use our laundry room or kitchen, just let us know and we’ll be happy to accommodate. Your hosts, Shari and Keith, live downstairs and are here to ensure you have a wonderful stay. Shari can usually be found in the kitchen, while Keith is often out on the farm. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Check-in is from 3:00pm to 9:00pm, with flexibility for earlier or later arrivals upon request. Breakfast is served at 9am in the dining room and typically includes freshly baked biscuits or bread, eggs, bacon or sausage, and fresh fruit. While cell coverage may be spotty, we provide high-speed internet to meet all your streaming needs. Please note that there is no TV in your room. For the comfort and safety of all our guests, we have a strict no-smoking and no-vaping policy on the property. Additionally, as marijuana is illegal in Kentucky, we do not allow its use in any form at our inn. We also maintain a no-pets policy to ensure a clean and comfortable environment for everyone.
