Roaring Paunch Creek Run – Friday and Saturday Mornings
June 7 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Friday and Saturday, repeating until July 27, 2019
Join us aboard our 2019 Spring train, approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hour, 8 mile round trip journey into Kentucky’s coal country.
Chug along the historic tracks of the Kentucky & Tennessee Railway and take a trip back in time to the days when the Stearns Coal & Lumber Company ruled the hills along the Cumberland Plateau. Experience the lush beauty of Southern Kentucky and be a part of the commonwealth’s most scenic railroad adventure.
The Historic District of Stearns is officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places and has a variety of gift and craft shops to help you find that special gift. The Whistle Stop Restaurant in the Depot offers a great menu perfect for before or after your train ride.
A Train ticket also includes visitation to the McCreary County Museum which is located in the 1907 Stearns Coal & Lumber Company office building. Check the Museum’s hours of operation to plan your visit before or after the train ride.
